The show took place on a unit set in LSU's Shaver Theatre (a proscenium stage).  The Frankenstein Lab Bed was assigned as a metalworking/structures project to be used in Swine Palace's production of Frankenstein.  The bed was designed to be installed on a wagon with a turntable.  The unit would then be able to roll downstage, rotate on the turntable, and stand up or lay flat to lab scenes.  The frame was built from 11 gauge steel and schedule 40 pipe.  The frame was jigged and MIG welded.  Both sides were faced with 1/2" plywood, the orientation of which was positioned to serve as a tension member for additional strength.
